The month of August is on and amidst the festivals like Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, many big budget movies have already been released in the theatres. With Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer,’ Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘OMG 2’ releasing this week, fans have a choice of three mega films to keep themselves entertained. ‘Jailer’ released a day earlier on August 10 and ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’ released on August 11. All the three films are giving a tough fight at the box office and it will be interesting to see which movie will win the battle in terms of collections.
Box office collection of ‘Jailer’
With this film, Rajinikanth has returned to the big screen after a gap of almost two years. The film had a stupendous collection of 48.35 crores in India only on its opening day. On the second day, the film had earned 27 crores, after which only India’s collection of the film had reached 75.35 crores.
Box office collection of ‘Gadar 2’
The film ‘Gadar 2‘, focusing on the India-Pakistan issue, got a great opening on the first day. On its opening day, Sunny Deol’s film earned 40 crores and with this it became the second highest grossing Bollywood film.
Box office collection of ‘OMG 2’
The movie ‘Oh My God 2‘ didn’t do wonders on the first day. Despite being in controversy, the film collected 9.60 crores on its opening day. The film has been in controversy since the beginning due to its bold topic depicting the inclusion and importance of sex education in India’s education system, which is believed to be an important reason for the low collection.
