Dulquer Salmaan, one of the most successful actors, has opened up about his personal life and his love story with his wife Amal Sufiya. The Guns N Gulaabs actor opened up about six months into a commercial and his marriage to his wife Amal, saying she keeps him cool.
Dulquer Salmaan said in a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps, “Amal found me when she didn’t know anything. When we met, I told her I wanted to be in at least one movie and direct one. She said I don’t think you understood this at all. Her family has nothing to do with the industry. As I grew up, she looked after me every day, even though I had bad days. she’s seen it all she makes up for it. You need grounding.”
How Dulquer Salmaan met his wife
Dulquer told how he met Amal and that they happened to be from the same school. “We went to the same high school. She was 5-6 years younger than myself. I didn’t see anyone. I started getting these ‘rishtas’ and other things. I began to run into my wife, whom I had never seen in Chennai before. Everyone kept telling me about her. I guess I started seeing her out three times a week when I first started seeing her. As a result, I regarded it as a sign. I invited her out for coffee. I was concerned if I did something wrong when she didn’t respond for two days. But then she was extremely lovely; she said, ‘Let’s meet,’ and reacted in the affirmative. I guess we both kept our parents in the loop,” said Dulquer said who married in 2011.
He also shared that they’ve literally always been a “long-distance marriage.” Every opportunity we had to spend time together meant a lot to us. It has always been a long-distance relationship. It takes effort, but you begin to appreciate the small things. I don’t get to spend time with my family because I’m always living out of a suitcase in a hotel. If I had a regular job, I would always drive her mad,” Dulquer said with a smile.

How do they handle each other? “I enjoy being around people. I still enjoy going out. Amal is not anti-social, but she prefers to retire early. While I like to leave at that moment. So we strike a balance.”
As one of the most elegant performers in recent years, he also spoke about his eye for detail and his desire to appear like a man since his boyhood days. “I’ve always had a keen sense of detail.” Every small detail is important to me. Even as a child, I recall wanting to dress like a guy, complete with bow and tie. It appealed to me.
