Happy Birthday Nagarjuna: The journey from engineering to acting, his top 3 movies

Happy Birthday Nagarjuna: Forever young Tollywood actor, Nagarjuna Akkineni turns 64 and looks nothing like it. The charming actor is as handsome as ever. However, while getting early access into acting, he was also being equipped academically.

The early life of Nagarjuna Akkineni

Nagarjuna is known for his strong personality and some of his major action hits. He was born as a star-son to the veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and his wife Annapurna. His father was keen on making a career in the film industry following which they shifted to Madras. Nagarjuna did his schooling from Hyderabad as the family moved there later. He went on to pursue his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Madras but could only do it for a year. Later, the actor was admitted in Eastern Michigan University from where he completed his MS in Automobile Engineering.

Career in the film industry

Nagarjuna made his appearance on the Big Screen at a very young age. He appeared in movies ‘Sudigundalu’ (1967) and ‘Velugu Needalu,’ both of which had his father in the lead role. His first leap in the industry as a lead actor was in the Telugu movie ‘Vikram’ in 1986. Nagarjuna was loved by the fans in the movie and subsequently he began to rise to fame.

The actor has launched in the cinema some of his blockbuster hits. However, when it comes to content, fans are the best critics ever. According to IMDB, the actor has dropped a total of 25 best movies that are rated above 5 on a scale from 1 to 10. Five of these movies have received staggering ratings ranging from 8 to 8.3; one among these is his widely acclaimed movie, “Siva.” The top three hits delivered by the actor that grabbed several awards are “Siva,” “Gitanjali,” and “Manmadhudu.”

Family life and hobbies

The actor was earlier married to Lakshmi Daggubati, but the couple could not stick together for long and got separated in 1990. He later married Amala, an Indian actress, dancer, and wildlife activist. The actor has two very handsome sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, both of which look like siblings of Nagarjuna.

One of his favorite hobbies is not hard to guess. The actor loves to workout as can be seen in his well-maintained physique. Due to his love for fitness, the actor doesn’t look anything like his age. He also likes to read in his free time, if there is any.
