The popular reality show Shark Tank India is returning to the TV screens with a fresh new season. This season, the show will include new sharks and the announcement was recently made on the official social media accounts of Shark Tank India. Recently, a fresh face has appeared. Ritesh Agarwal, creator of OYO Rooms, was also introduced, and now, Azhar Iqubal, a young entrepreneur who turned his Facebook page into a thriving firm, is ready to join the show as a shark.

The founder and CEO of Inshorts, Azhar Iqubal will join the sharks Vineeta Singh, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal. It looks like Amit Jain, CEO of CarDekho, will miss this season and he will not be a part anymore as none of the promo showed him as the shark but official news will come after the premiere of the show. Who is Azhar Iqubal?
The 30-year-old first-generation entrepreneur Azhar Iqubal is most known for being the CEO and co-founder of Inshorts, India’s top-rated English news app. In order to provide readers with concise summaries of news stories within the confines of 60 words, Azhar and his IIT classmates Anunay Arunav and Deepit Purkayastha decided to launch a Facebook page called News in Shorts, which they later transformed into the now-famous India’s highest-rated English news App Inshorts.
Azhar is a native of Bihar. He and the other co-founders of Inshorts are all IIT grads. They founded a firm in Noida, which Fintrackr estimates is worth Rs 3700 crore. Following the success of Inshorts, Azhar also founded Public in 2019. This location-based social network has over 50 million active members and generates over 1 million new videos each month, making it the largest in India.
Azhar is the recipient of several prominent honours and accolades, including the Business World Young Entrepreneur Award, The Most Enterprising Brands, Leaders of Asia Award, Business World 40 under 40, Fortune India 40 under 40, Forbes India 30 under 30, and Forbes Asia 30 under 30.
